Basic Requirements to be a Deputy
Constable

Deputy with the Tarrant County Constable's Offcie Pct. 7 you must
first check with the
Tarrant County Job Opportunities Website
to see if a position is available.

Full Time Deputy
Requirements
When a position is available through
the
Tarrant County Job Opportunities Website
you may apply if you meet the minimum requirements. You
must apply through the Tarrant County Human Resource Department
first. If you qualify, your application will be forwarded to this
office. At that time your application will be reviewed and you may
be called in for an interview with our hiring board. We will then
conduct a very thorough investigation on the top applicants. After
completion of your background, we will inform you of the next
process. You will be notified in writing if you do not qualify for
a position. A list of our duties can be viewed by reading
the Duties of the
Constable's Office Pct. 7. The Tarrant County
Constable's Office Pct. 7 seeks Deputies of the highest standards

Health: Among the conditions to be
evaluated as a prerequisite to preliminary consideration
are:
 |
A general capacity
to perform tasks required of peace officers, including (but not
limited to) capability of unassisted (except be mechanical or
stationary self-contained objects) performance of physical agility
tasks reflective of peace officer
duties. |
 |
These will include
capacity to run, jump, turn, pivot, stoop, climb, and execute
similar movements; push, lift, remove, install, and otherwise
handle objects and persons weighing 50-200 pounds, and subdue
resisting individuals by exercise of physical force so as to take
into custody and transport them against their
will. |
 |
Such tasks shall
be capable of being performed with reasonable accommodation, if
necessary, that does not impair a business hardship and without
presenting a direct threat to the safety of the applicant or
others. |
Among the conditions to be evaluated as a prerequisite
to a final job offer are:

The applicant must
have vision in both eyes and possess hearing in both ears as
described above under general
requirements. |

Capable of
performing the tasks described above. |
 |
Possess
satisfactory psychological and emotional health;
and |
 |
Not possess a
condition which posses a direct threat to the safety of the
applicant or others. |

Reserve Deputy Constable
POSITIONS
AVAILABLE
You may apply if you meet the minimum
requirements. If you qualify, you may call and speak with with our
Office Manager, fill out an
Apllication Online or Contact Us
by email. Once you complete your apllication it will need to be
submitted to the Constable's Office in person or by mail.
(Reserve Deputy
applications are the only applications that go directly to this
office all other position must go through Human
Resource). Your application will be reviewed and you may

purchase your own equipment and
uniforms |

Have
medical insurance at all times while performing duties as a Reserve
Deputy (from your primary job or self
insured)

Prefer that you be a member of a Police Officer
Association (CLEAT,
TMPA
or FOP).
This is to protect the Reserve
Deputy with legal fees in case of an incident. Tarrant County does
not necessarily give Reserve Deputies the same legal representation
as they do for full-time Deputies. A waiver may be signed if the
Reserve Deputy wishes to wave this
request.
